GENERIKA STEALS MOST COVETED BFAD NCR QUALITY SEAL AWARD FROM THE LEADING DRUGSTORE

September 15, 2009

Generika Drugstore has just staged a major coup. Its Soledad Branch garnered first place in the National Capital Region in the drugstore chain category of the BFAD Quality Seal Award, besting long time awardee, Mercury Drug, and other established drugstores.

The awarding ceremony was held on September 15, by BFAD at the Best Western Astor Hotel in Makati City . Generika Soledad branch supervisor, Mr. Lean Justiza, jumped with joy at the unexpected announcement. Mr. Justiza said that he feels very proud and happy to be receiving this prestigious award from the Bureau of Food and Drugs.

"This award symbolizes our continuous quest for excellence in serving our customers by giving them quality medicines and hospitable customer service" Lean enthuses.

What makes this award more meaningful for the Generika Drugstore Chain is that 4 other branches received the BFAD Quality Seal Award, namely, Generika Sucat, Generika Bayanan, Generika Makati and Generika Malibay. The respective and smiling store supervisors are Ms. Mau Dela Crus, Ms Fely Wong, Ms. Janet Punongbayab and Ms. Joy Mendoza.

Generika Drugstore has been reaping awards since last year when it received the DSAP 2008 national winner award for drugstore chain category. This year Generika has also been recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as Most Promising Franchise and Best In Franchise Support.

The series of awards are most gratifying because Generika has been in operations for only over 5 years. Moreover, franchising was launched only about a year ago, but already Generika has 60 outlets composed of 16 company stores and 44 franchise outlets. More franchise stores are being added every month as Generika expands in measured steps to achieve its vision to be a national chain of drugstores focused on quality generic medicines complemented by superior customer service and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Notwithstanding these achievements and recognition, Generika remains humble yet steadfast in serving the needs of millions of Filipinos who crave for quality and affordable generic medicines in tandem with the distinctive Generika way of customer service.

Now more than ever, Generika is inspired to continue doing what it has been doing since it opened the first drugstore in May 2004, and to seek ways to better serve its loyal customers and to extend its reach to the many other communities in the country.
